Christian Lee delivered the performance of a lifetime in his final bout of 2022. Relatively fresh off his successful bid to recapture the ONE lightweight world championship in August, ‘The Warrior’ returned to the Circle with the chance to become a two-division titleholder, challenging former welterweight king Kiamrian Abbasov.
It was a grueling affair in the ONE on Prime Video 4 main event that saw Lee’s night nearly end early as Abbasov’s power was on full display. However, true to his name, ‘The Warrior’ bit down on his mouthguard and pushed forward.
In the end, he scored a memorable fourth-round TKO to capture his second world championship. Discussing the Fight of the Year contender with ONE Championship, Christian Lee credited his brutal training camp for the victory.
“It was a crazy fight. I think me and Abbasov were both hurting after that fight was done. But you know, it was a great night. I’m grateful that I was able to get my hand raised, I got the result that I wanted.”
