Christian Lee says “pure instinct and pure training” take over in the championship rounds of a fight

ONE double-champ Christian Lee is well-versed when it comes to competing for world titles – and he relies on two things to get him through the deep waters.

'The Warrior' has already taken part in eight championship fights under ONE's banner. Moreover, Lee has entered the championship rounds on three different occasions, most recently finishing Kiamrian Abbasov in the fourth round.

For Lee, it's all about instinct and falling back on his training when it comes to succeeding in the latter rounds. The champ told ONE:

"For me, it takes training. Having the cardio to push through when the time comes down to it. But it also takes a tremendous amount of mental strength to just not give yourself any second to doubt your cardio, to not even take a second to overanalyze the fight, you just have to go on pure instincts and pure training."

Christian Lee added:

"When it came down to those championship rounds, it’s not so much I’m thinking, ‘This is what I’m doing now, this is what I’m gonna do to him.’ It’s everything that I’ve done in the training room, in the gym just kicking in and taking over because when you’re that exhausted and in my case having gotten knocked down in the first round, there’s not so much thinking going on. It’s more just relying on your instincts and in your training."

Christian Lee excited for ONE's North American debut

ONE Championship is slated to make its North American debut when the promotion touches down in Colorado for ONE on Prime Video 10 next May.

Christian Lee couldn't be happier to see the organization hold an event in his native continent. 'The Warrior' recently spoke on the subject in an exclusive interview with ONE, saying:

“It’s exciting. I’m so glad that ONE Championship is finally coming to the U.S. They’ve been doing so great, completely dominating in Asia. And now with the Amazon Prime deal touching down in the U.S., I think that it’s a big time for ONE Championship.”

Debuting in the United States will certainly bring more fans to ONE Championship.
