Mario Bautista’s MMA Career
Prior to entering the UFC, Bautista had a prosperous stint in organizations like Tachi Palace Fights and Combate Americas, achieving an unblemished 6-0 record. He entered the UFC in January 2019, substituting for the injured John Lineker. Regrettably, his inaugural UFC bout didn't unfold as intended, as he endured a submission defeat in the first round to Cory Sandhagen.
In his subsequent UFC appearances, Bautista showed his resilience and skill. In July 2019, he secured a unanimous decision victory against Jin Soo Son. Then, in February 2020, he impressed with a Performance of the Night-winning second-round technical knockout against Miles Johns.
While he faced a setback in March 2021, losing via technical knockout to Trevin Jones, Bautista quickly bounced back. In February 2022, he replaced an injured fighter and won via unanimous decision against Jay Perrin.
Continuing his momentum, Bautista achieved a first-round rear-naked choke submission victory against Brian Kelleher in June 2022. Later in November 2022, he earned another Performance of the Night award with a stunning first-round reverse triangle armbar submission win against Benito Lopez.
His journey continued with a victory against Guido Cannetti in March 2023, sealing the bout with a first-round rear-naked choke submission.
