Conor McGregor often finds himself butting heads with somebody on social media. Today has been no different as the former two-division UFC champion has promised to slaughter both Carl Froch and George Groves in the cage.

The two boxers have never really seen eye-to-eye and have competed against each other on two occasions, with 'The Cobra' coming out on top both times. While they've been at odds in the past, the one thing they do have in common is their clear dislike of 'The Notorious' due to his brash persona.

While addressing both Carl Froch and George Groves on social media, Conor McGregor indicated that he would welcome a clash with the two at the same time if it were to happen inside the octagon.

"I'll slaughter Froch and Groves at the same time in the cage."

The ongoing narrative regarding both mixed martial artists and boxers is that they are unable to become wildly successful in the opposing sport, which seems to be true.

There are a number of success stories of former boxers making the jump to MMA and becoming champions, with Holly Holm being a standout in this case. Despite that, the majority of those who test themselves in other sports are normally unsuccessful, with Conor McGregor, Tyron Woodley, and even James Toney prime examples of that.

Though he came up short against Floyd Mayweather during his debut in the squared circle, the MMA star did give a good account of himself and has expressed an interest in returning to the ring one day.

Conor McGregor's next fight: Has the date for the Irishman's return been confirmed?

Conor McGregor's return was announced when Dana White confirmed the Dublin native would be coaching the forthcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter alongside Michael Chandler later this year.

Despite his comeback, it was unknown when the megastar would be ready to compete given the restrictions put in place by USADA. There was speculation that an end-of-year bout would be most likely, as he would need to undergo a six-month testing period.

McGregor's long-term coach John Kavanagh has released some seemingly huge news after he claimed the monumental war with Michael Chandler will take place during International Fight Week.
