Fifth-ranked strawweight Muay Thai contender Danial Williams has done his due diligence on his ONE Fight Night 8 opponent, Rui Botelho.
After going 3-1 in his last four mixed martial arts fights, ‘Mini T’ returns to his old stomping ground against the Portugal-born fighter in a pivotal strawweight Muay Thai bout.
Williams and Botelho will trade heavy artillery this Friday, March 24, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Ever the student of the game through and through, Williams has spent a lot of time rewatching Botelho’s past fights inside the Circle. In an interview with ONE Championship, the heavy-handed Aussie confidently said his earth-shattering punches will reach Botelho’s chin:
“I think he's definitely got a few holes, so I think he's very hittable, and I think I can block many of his shots. I just think there's quite a lot. I feel like he's very dominant with his hands. I think there are holes there when he starts swinging. His chin is open.”
Moreover, ‘Mini T’ already noticed some obvious quirks in Botelho’s defensive repertoire, adding:
“I feel like he bites on feints a lot. So I feel that pressure, when you have that pressure with him, he's moving like this. I feel he's just open for a lot of shots because he's thinking of that defense. I think I can exploit that a lot.”
Williams has never been shy about talking about his dream of one day becoming a ONE world champion in mixed martial arts, kickboxing, and Muay Thai.
After hitting a speedbump in his last MMA match against Jeremy Miado, the 29-year-old now sets his sights on challenging ONE strawweight Muay Thai king Joseph Lasiri.
‘Mini T’ believes beating Botelho in a convincing matter will move him one step closer to a duel with ‘The Hurricane’.
