‘Mini-T’ Danial Williams is so thrilled to see Muay Thai making massive leaps in mainstream sports media through ONE Championship’s event series ONE Friday Nights.
The Singapore-based promotion launched their first installment of ONE Friday Nights earlier this year with a mission to popularize Thailand’s national sport world-wide and showcase the country’s international talents.
With ONE Friday Nights now being aired every week on major broadcasting networks in countries like Brazil and Australia, the future of Muay Thai is looking very bright.
ONE strawweight contender Danial Williams weighed in on the subject recently and said the following to ONE Championship:

“I just know that, for me, it's a good thing. Because my Thai family are all watching it now, they wouldn't be too familiar with the Muay Thai scene, but now, they're actually starting to watch it. I feel like it's just getting a lot more eyes on people that wouldn't usually watch Muay Thai in Thailand. I think it's just starting to become a lot more popular.”
Thus far, Thailand’s biggest stars such as ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama and Prajanchai PK Saenchai have graced the iconic Lumpinee stage with their immeasurable talents.
Not to mention international stars like former ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion Alaverdi Ramazanov and two-sport king Regian Eersel.
Already in its 10th week, ONE Friday Nights has become a real-game changer in the way fans watch Thai combat sports now.
Danial Williams replaces Rodtang to face Superlek at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video
‘Mini-T’ Danial Williams has accepted the challenge to face Superlek Kiatmoo9 in this Friday’s main event after Rodtang Jitmuangnon pulled from the card due to an injury.
Instead of fighting against Rui Botelho in a Muay Thai bout as originally planned, Danial Williams will now face Superlek Kiatmoo9 for the ONE flyweight kickboxing world title. It’s not exactly what Williams’ had expected to happen but it’s nonetheless a massive opportunity that he won’t take for granted.
The Perth native recently made it known to the world about his aspirations to become a three-sport world champion. As fate would have it, he has a chance to finally make a breakthrough.
Watch Danial Williams take on one of the greatest strikers in the world this Friday, March 24 at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video. American fans can watch the explosive headliner live and for free with an Amazon Prime subscription.
