Daniel Cormier is sounding off on the negative feedback that Paddy Pimblett has received in terms of his career trajectory in the UFC.
Cormier uploaded a short on his YouTube channel where he spoke about Pimblett and why it's important for fans not to expect much from the UFC lightweight as it takes away from the overall enjoyment. He mentioned that not every fighter has to immediately become a champion, saying:
"I think we at times we take fighting and fighters too seriously. Everybody doesn't have to become Chris Weidman. Everybody does not have to become a champion. I think at times we need to sometimes live in what we have right now."

'DC' added that 'The Baddy' is a very charismatic fighter and has the ability to spark a reaction from fans in the arena. He mentioned that fans should enjoy the moment rather than looking forward too much and having unreasonable expectations, saying:
"What we have in Paddy Pimblett is a fun guy that draws people in and he brings a great energy to fighting. So, maybe we need to release some of the pressure in the idea of what Paddy Pimblett can become and live in the fun because right now, it's pretty damn fun to watch Paddy Pimblett take over an arena the moment his music hits."

Daniel Cormier reacts to Paddy Pimblett's controversial win against Jared Gordon
Daniel Cormier was complimentary of Paddy Pimblett's rise to superstardom, but he warned fans not to get too ahead of themselves following his controversial unanimous decision win against Jared Gordon at UFC 282.
'DC' uploaded a video to his YouTube channel following the event, where he recapped Pimblett's performance and described the atmosphere in the T-Mobile Arena for his fight. He made comparisons between 'The Baddy' and Conor McGregor, but also highlighted a major difference, saying:
"Honestly, the reaction and reception that he got hasn't been seen this early since Conor McGregor. But here's the difference, Conor McGregor won and Conor McGregor won at a championship level. This was Paddy's step up. If he would have wiped Jared Gordon out as he did his first few fights in the UFC, he would be much more excited." {2:31 - 2:51}
