Danielle Kelly likes to study the strengths and weaknesses of her opponents before stepping on the mat with them.
Kelly is doing exactly that in preparation for a tough test at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video. Meeting Kelly under the bright lights of the newly renovated Lumpinee Boxing Stadium will be Ayaka Miura. ‘Zombie’ is an established mixed martial artist with a third-degree Judo black belt.
That combination makes her unlike any opponent Kelly has faced inside the Circle, but the submission grappling star will be plenty prepared. In a ONE Fight Night 7 pre-event interview, she discussed her preparations for each opponent she faces, saying:
“I study them if they're what they're really good at, just like if they were a jiu-jitsu person, judo and MMA, I look at where they're really good at and where their weaknesses are. I start working on my game, so they get to play my game.”

Miura will go into the bout presenting a fairly unique challenge for Danielle Kelly. Best known for being a mixed martial artist with a respectable record of 11-4, ‘Zombie’ has curated a 100% finish rate under the ONE Championship banner, all of which came by way of finishes, proving she is more than capable of handling herself on the mat.
Danielle Kelly is as confident as ever going into ONE Fight Night 7 match
Going into her first appearance of 2023, Danielle Kelly is still debating how she wants to handle her opponent, Ayaka Miura.
Will she submit her early and call it a night? Or will Kelly opt to play with her food before eating her alive? Needless to say, the photogenic submission star is feeling as confident as ever going into ONE Fight Night 7 on Friday night:
"I’m just debating with myself if I want to keep the match short. Just submit her right away or make it fun, but you know, I'm going to be way lighter than her, so I don't know if I want to play with her too much. She's really good. She's strong at what she does. Yeah, I have a few tricks up my sleeve."
Danielle Kelly will be gunning for her third-straight $50,000 performance bonus when she meets. Will she score another spectacular submission victory and pocket another 50k from the ONE CEO or will Ayaka Miura rise to the challenge and deliver one of the biggest upsets in ONE Championship history?
