Dmitry Bivol and Malik Zinad are scheduled to take on each other on June 1, 2024, in a WBA light heavyweight battle in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Bivol was originally scheduled to face Artur Beterbiev; however, the latter’s withdrawal prompted Zinad to step up and square off against Bivol in the high-stakes fight.
Dmitry Bivol is a prominent Russian professional boxer who is the incumbent WBA and IBO light heavyweight champion. Before becoming a professional boxer, Bivol started his combat sports career as an amateur boxer, where he won a gold medal in the 2013 World Combat Games. On November 28, 2014, Dmitry Bivol made his professional boxing debut by facing Jorge Rodriguez Oliveira in a six-round showdown and defeating him by a TKO to start his career on a winning note.
Dmitry Bivol’s rival for his upcoming fight is Libyan professional boxer Malik Zinad. He was trained by his father as a child and eventually left his country to Malta to fulfill his dream of becoming a professional boxer. In his amateur days, Zinad competed in 25 fights. He became a professional boxer on October 30, 2015, and made his debut against Bogoljub Borisev in a six-round fight. Zinad made quick work of Borisev and defeated him by a second-round TKO to start his career with a dominant win.
On June 1, 2024, the duo will look to outclass each other in a bid to emerge victorious. Dmitry Bivol’s light heavyweight title will be on the line, whereas, on the other hand, Malik Zinad will try to make the most out of the opportunity by trying to wrest the title from Bivol.
