Fabricio Andrade put his striking on display in the ONE on Prime Video 3 main event last month against former bantamweight world champion John ‘Hands of Stone’ Lineker.

The two bantamweight stars squared off in the evening’s main event with the bantamweight crown hanging in the balance. Throughout the two-and-a-half rounds that the fight lasted, Andrade put on a veritable striking clinic, delivering precise strikes with incredible power that left Lineker with one good eye.

Speaking with The MMA Superfan, Fabricio Andrade discussed his work on the feet against ‘Hands of Stone’ and shared his reaction to landing clean, particularly with the jab, without eating any counterstrikes from Lineker in the process:

“From the start I just threw the jab especially against short guys because they cannot get that close so I knew when I started to touch him with the jab, I started to create some damage. I expected him to try to hit me back after the jabs but he was not coming back, so that was a bit of a surprise for me, because he was just taking the damage and he just walked back.”

Of course, we all know by now that the fight ended in an unfortunate no-contest following a flying knee by Andrade that landed a little too low. Luckily, fans won’t have to wait long to see the two warriors run it back as ONE Championship announced that Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker will run it back at ONE on Prime Video 7 in February.

As always, this event will be broadcast live and for free to all Amazon Prime Video subscribers across North America.

Fabricio Andrade reveals what Anatoly Malykhin told him following no contest at ONE on Prime Video 4

Following a disappointing finish at ONE on Prime Video 3, Fabricio Andrade was not interested in talking to anyone, but one man was able to console him - Current ONE interim heavyweight world champion Anatoly Malykhin:

"I was really sad and stuff, I didn’t wanna talk with anybody but he went to me and said, ‘Oh, you’re really the champion.' He’s a super nice guy. He was having fun during the warmups and stuff. He had no voice anymore but he was still yelling, ‘And new! And new!’ So I started hearing him and stuff."

He added:

"He was just saying, ‘Yeah, you’re the champion, everybody knows, you showed it, everything was perfect.’ But yeah, I was still sad."

Malykhin will return to the circle in just a couple of weeks as one-half of the ONE on Prime Video 5 main event. ‘Sladkiy’ will attempt to become a two-division world champion as he challenges Reinier de Ridder for the light heavyweight crown.

Already a dual-world champion himself, de Ridder will look to keep both his world titles together with his undefeated record when ONE Championship returns to Manila on December 2.
