Fans react to Mikey Musumeci’s unique submission grappling style

ONE's inaugural flyweight submission grappling champ, Mikey Musumeci, is bringing more and more attention to the sport with his performances inside the circle. Fans are particularly commenting on the rising talent's unique style.

With up-and-coming world-class grapplers like the Ruotolo brothers and Danielle Kelly, some viewers believe Musumeci might be the cream of the crop.

Mikey Musumeci eyeing match with 'Mighty Mouse' and finishes from here on out

'Darth Rigatoni' has some lofty goals for himself—one of which is bringing mainstream attention to the sport of submission grappling. He believes a match with MMA icon 'Mighty Mouse' would do just that. He told ONE:

“I know me and him could bring the MMA and jiu-jitsu fans together and it would be just be a historic, incredible event. It would be an honor to step on the mat with him.”

Not only that, but Musumeci hopes to awe fans with submission victories going forward—as he did in his ONE Championship debut against Masakazu Imanari. The 26-year-old continued:

“I had him in one really tight heel hook that I usually finish, like 100% of the time, and I couldn't [this time], so it's kind of frustrating to me. But I think again, it was the adrenaline, and I felt like my arms got really tired the first minute of the match from that adrenaline, you know? But I'm going to adjust over time with experience."
