The latest edition of The Ultimate Fighter will see Urijah Faber and MMA sensation Conor McGregor coach rival teams, representing USA and Europe respectively. One of the contestants on Team Europe, Sascha Sharma will be making major history on the show as the first fighter with Indian roots to be a part of the biggest MMA reality show.
The show, which begins airing on September 9, will see 32 competitors from the United States and Europe battle it out for the opportunity to earn a contract with the UFC. Sascha Sharma, a native of Germany, is the son of an Indian father and a German mother, his father having migrated to Germany in 1978. In Sharma’s own words to Sportskeeda, “I feel as much of an Indian as I feel that I am a German”.
Having fought in many organisations across the world, including The Super Fight League, Sharma boasts of an MMA record of 8 wins and 2 losses. Watch this space for more updates from the show as Sascha aims to become the first Indian to fight in the UFC.
