Francis Ngannou, also known as The Predator, is a Cameroonian heavyweight mixed martial artist and professional boxer. Born in Batie, Cameroon on September 5, 1986, Ngannou grew up in complete poverty and worked at a local sand quarry to make ends meet from a very young age. With dreams of being a professional boxer, Ngannou relocated to Paris, France, in his mid-20s where he was homeless before being introduced to MMA. Ngannou started his career in 2013, fighting for various regional promotions in Europe. In 2015, he signed with the UFC, where he instantly made a name for himself by compiling highlight-reel finishes. Ngannou's infamous KO of Alistair Overeem remains one of the most iconic KO's in the sport. He went on to fight for the UFC heavyweight title twice, losing the first time out to Stipe Miocic before claiming the belt in their 2021 rematch.

In 2023, Ngannou joined the Professional Fighters League, after he quit the UFC due to a tumultuous relationship. Ngannou also transitioned into boxing, making his debut against Tyson Fury in October 2023. As of October 14, 2024, he maintains a record of 17 wins and 3 losses in his professional MMA career. Ngannou's next outing will see him squaring off against Renan Ferreira on October 19, 2024, for the inaugural PFL Heavyweight Superfight Championship.

Francis Ngannou Punch Power

Francis Ngannou holds the world record for the hardest punch ever measured, generating 129,161 units on a PowerKube device. To put this into perspective, UFC President Dana White famously described it as equivalent to 96 horsepower, a force comparable to being hit by a Ford Escort at full speed or a 12-pound sledgehammer swung from overhead. This astonishing power makes Ngannou’s punches among the most dangerous in combat sports history.

Ngannou’s knockout of Alistair Overeem in 2017, where he used a devastating left uppercut, is a prime example of his ability to end fights in a split second.
