Francis Ngannou is an established professional mixed martial artist and a prominent name in the world of professional boxing. The Cameroonian-French heavyweight fighter started his career in combat sports after moving to Paris, France, from, Batie, Cameroon, in his late 20s. Ngannou made his debut as a professional mixed martial artist in a heavyweight showdown against Rachid Benzina on November 30, 2013, and defeated him to begin his career.

After becoming a professional competitor, Francis Ngannou suffered the first loss of his professional mixed martial arts career in his second fight. He was defeated by Zoumanna Cisse by a unanimous decision when the duo met each other inside the cage on December 14, 2013. Ngannou recovered from his loss and compiled a four-fight winning streak before getting signed by the UFC. He made his promotional debut in the promotion on December 19, 2015. He competed in UFC until he parted ways with the company and signed with the PFL in 2023.

Francis Ngannou's Title Loss

Francis Ngannou, right after making his promotional debut in the UFC, raised eyebrows for his unbelievable punching power. He became the UFC heavyweight champion after beating Stipe Miocic in the second round of their fight at UFC 260 with a devastating punch. Ngannou defended the title once against Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 and was successful in defending the title. He was stripped of the championship by UFC on January 14, 2023, after he developed differences with UFC President Dana White regarding his contract. Ngannou left the promotion and became a part of the PFL and is scheduled to make his first outing in the organization against Renan Fereira on October 19, 2024.
