Ian Garry’s MMA Career

Hailing from Portmarnock, Dublin, Ireland, Garry began his amateur MMA career in November 2017, ending it with a 6–1 record in November 2018. He turned pro in February 2019 at Cage Warriors 101, defeating James Sheehan and earning a contract along with the Fight of the Night award. Garry secured four more wins before beating UFC veteran Rostem Akman at Cage Warriors 121 in under 8 minutes. This led to a Cage Warriors 125 title win against Jack Grant. In July 2021, he signed with the UFC and debuted on November 6, 2021, with a first-round knockout against Jordan Williams at UFC 268.

Garry continued his UFC journey, defeating Darian Weeks at UFC 273 and Gabriel Green at UFC 276 via unanimous decisions. He faced Song Kenan on March 4, 2023, rebounding from a first-round knockdown to secure a technical knockout in the third round. His next match was against Daniel Rodriguez at UFC on ABC 4 on May 13, 2023, where he won in the first round via headkick and ground and pound TKO, earning the Performance of the Night award.

Garry is set to fight Geoff Neal at UFC 292 on August 19, 2023. He trains at Kill Cliff FC in Deerfield Beach, Florida, under the guidance of master coach Henri Hooft, alongside strength and conditioning coaches Phil Daru and Jose Rojas.
