Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, born on November 7, 1994, in Baltimore, Maryland, is a standout undefeated lightweight professional boxer who currently holds the WBA Lightweight title. Despite a difficult childhood marked by his parents' substance abuse issues and a lot of time spent in foster care and group homes, Davis found purpose and discipline in boxing. He began training at the Upton Boxing Center in Baltimore at the age of seven, under the mentorship of Calvin Ford, a former inmate turned coach.

Davis' professional career launched in 2013, and he quickly ascended through the boxing ranks with a series of impressive wins. His significant breakthrough occurred in January 2017 when he captured the IBF super featherweight title by knocking out José Pedraza in the seventh round, making him one of the youngest world champions at the time.

Despite turmoil between the two at present, Davis was mentored by Floyd Mayweather Jr. early in his career which helped his swift ascent, successfully defending his title on multiple occasions. He earned further recognition by participating in high-profile bouts, including his blockbuster fight against Ryan Garcia in 2023 and his feature on the undercard of the legendary Mayweather vs. McGregor fight in 2017.

As of 2024, Davis maintains an unblemished record, with 29 victories, 27 of which are by knockout. Known for his aggressive style and finishing abilities, he has become one of modern boxing's biggest attractions.
