Mike Tyson is a legendary American boxer who was born on June 30, 1966, in Brooklyn, New York, United States of America. Tyson shocked the combat sports universe when he defeated Trevor Berbick on November 22, 1986, at the age of 20 to win the WBC heavyweight title. Before turning to combat sports, he was involved with different street gangs in his early days, due to which he was sent to a reform school.

During his time at the reform school in 1978, Mike Tyson came across Bobby Stewart, who sensed the boxing potential in Tyson and guided him to a respected boxing trainer, Cus D'Amato, who also became Tyson’s legal guardian. Mike Tyson started as an amateur and amassed an impressive record of 24 wins and 3 losses. Mike Tyson ventured into professional boxing in 1985. His peekaboo boxing style, with hands held close to his cheeks and a constant movement in the ring, made his defense immaculately foolproof. Tyson, besides becoming the youngest WBC heavyweight champion in 1986, went on to clinch the WBA title by defeating James Smith. With his win over Tony Tucker in 1987, Tyson was recognized as a champion by the WBC, WBA, and IBF. Mike Tyson defended his world heavyweight title ten times, which included victories over Larry Holmes and Michael Spinks. In his professional career, which spanned decades, Mike Tyson compiled a professional record of 50 wins, 6 losses, and 2 no-contests.
