A few years later, the pair finally got a shot at each other at UFC 178 titled 'Bitter Rivals'. The event was a grudge match between they and the fireworks began even before the pair stepped foot in the octagon. There was a physical altercation during a media event to hype up the fight.

'Bones' was crowned the light heavyweight champion again, but his joy was shortlived. His life outside the ring affected his legacy yet again. 'Bones' was stripped of his belt again after testing positive for the banned substance turinabol.

The decision was then overturned from a knockout win for Jones to a no contest between the pair, and the light heavyweight title was returned to Cormier. 'Bones' is currently eyeing a way into the heavyweight division in the UFC, looking to challenge Francis Ngannou.
