Early Life and Career of Holly Holm

Holly Holm was the youngest of three children. Her father, Roger, is a preacher affiliated with the Church of Christ, which led to her being nicknamed "The Preacher's Daughter" during her fighting career. Tammy, Holm's mother, works as a massage therapist. Holm's ancestry is primarily Irish.

During her childhood, Holm participated in various sports, including soccer, gymnastics, swimming, and diving. However, her parents divorced shortly before her graduation from Manzano High School in 2000. Following high school, she attended the University of New Mexico for a year before pursuing her athletic career.

On March 4, 2011, Holly Holm made her debut in mixed martial arts (MMA) at an event organized by her boxing promoter, Lenny Fresquez. The event also featured her Jackson's Submission Fighting teammate Keith Jardine. Holm headlined the card and faced off against Christina Domke. In the second round, Holm secured a victory via TKO when Domke was unable to continue due to the leg kicks she received from Holm.

After her successful debut, Holm took a break from MMA but returned to the sport on September 9, 2011. She competed at Fresquez Productions: Clash in the Cage against Jan Finney, who had experience fighting in Strikeforce. Holm showcased her skills once again and defeated Finney in the third round, achieving another TKO victory in her MMA career.
