He started training in martial arts and competed on amateur circuits before starting his professional career in mixed martial arts. He showed the signs of a lethal competitor inside the octagon by putting up exciting performances on his way to the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Khalil Rountree Jr. became a professional mixed martial artist on June 6, 2014, by fighting Livingston Lukow in his debut showdown. He fought through the three rounds and was adjudged the winner by unanimous decision. After a win in his debut, Rountree Jr. marched forward with an unblemished record of 4 fights and 0 losses. He appeared on the coveted Ultimate Fighting Championship’s The Ultimate Fighter: Team Juana vs. Team Claudia Finale on July 8, 2016.

Khalil Rountree Jr. locked horns with Andrew Sanchez in a light heavyweight bout at The Ultimate Fighter: Team Juana vs. Team Claudia Finale.
