Laura Sanko, affectionately known as 'Fancy,' made history in 2021 by becoming the first female commentator to join the modern-era Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) broadcasting team. Before her successful broadcasting career, Sanko had a stint as an MMA fighter in the atomweight division, boasting a record of one win and no losses.

Her transition from the octagon to the commentator's desk was incredibly smooth. She started her broadcasting journey with Invicta FC before making the leap to the UFC in 2016. Sanko's commentary career took a significant turn in 2023 when she graduated from the role as a color commentator on Dana White's Contender Series (DWCS) to become an integral part of the main commentary team for a UFC Fight Night event.

How Old is Laura Sanko?

Laura Sanko is currently 41 years of age as of December 2024. Sanko was born on December 7, 1982, in Illinois, but she spent her upbringing in Kansas City due to her father's job relocation. She has a brother named Steve Marcusse. Her fascination with karate and martial arts began at a young age, inspired by the famous movie "The Karate Kid." Sanko had the support of her father, who encouraged her passion for combat sports. During her high school years at Kansas City Christian School, she actively engaged in sports and pursued karate training.

In 2001, when she enrolled at William Jewell College, she made a significant shift in her academic focus, changing her major from piano performance to taking up an entrepreneurial path and studying business administration. Her professional journey took off in 2005 when she joined Fleishman Hillard Inc., where she achieved the distinction of becoming the company's youngest senior account executive.
