Marlon Andres Vera Delgado (known by his nickname Chito Vera) hails from Ecuador and currently competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship's (UFC) bantamweight division. In May 2014, Marlon Vera joined The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America as a member of Team Werdum. During the show, he emerged victorious over Henry Briones in the quarterfinals through a knockout. Unfortunately, a skin infection led to his withdrawal from the semifinals, and Guido Cannetti took his place.

Vera's official debut came on November 15, 2014, at UFC 180 against Marco Beltrán, resulting in a loss via unanimous decision. He rebounded by defeating Roman Salazar through a second-round submission at UFC Fight Night 73, earning a Performance of the Night bonus.

Subsequent fights included a loss to Davey Grant at UFC Fight Night 84, a victory over Wuliji Buren at UFC 227 via second-round TKO, and a win against Guido Cannetti via rear-naked choke in round two at UFC Fight Night 140.

Marlon Vera's journey continued with a series of wins and losses, including notable victories over Brian Kelleher and Andre Ewell via submission and TKO, respectively. He achieved a significant triumph by defeating Sean O'Malley via TKO in round one at UFC 252.

In December 2020, Vera faced José Aldo, losing via unanimous decision. He secured impressive victories over opponents like Frankie Edgar through a front kick knockout and Rob Font via a unanimous decision.

A highlight of Marlon Vera's career came with a knockout win against Dominick Cruz at the UFC on ESPN 41, earning him the Performance of the Night award. Vera's journey faced ups and downs, including a split decision loss to Cory Sandhagen at the UFC on ESPN 43. His anticipated bout against Henry Cejudo was disrupted by Cejudo's injury, leading to Pedro Munhoz taking his place at UFC 292 in August 2023. He defeated Munhoz by a unanimous decision and faced Sean O'Malley in the main event of the UFC 299 in a bantamweight title bout. Vera lost to O'Malley by a unanimous decision.
