Tabatha Ricci recently shared her thoughts on her recent win over Jessica Penne at UFC 285.

While speaking with Michael Asiffo on Vibe 105.5FM Toronto, Ricci reflected on her submission win against a veteran fighter like Penne and what she believes will be next for her now that she is the No.15 ranked strawweight.

Ricci mentioned that she is taking a measured approach, but also has high hopes for the remainder of the year.

"I'm not in the rush. You know, I still wanna get more experience as I can inside the octagon and UFC. So, we don't have a name, we don't look like for specific girl that we want to fight, but I do wanna try to get in the top-10 this year." [7:39 - 7:59]

'Baby Shark' also added that she will take time with her manager and team to evaluate the best possible options for her and an opponent that will get her closer to the top-10.

"I have to talk to my manager, I haven't seen him yet, we have to have a meeting to talk more about that more specific and then we're gonna decide exactly what we're gonna do. I truly believe in my team and my manager and you know, I think we're gonna get the right fight for me, so I just gonna be ready for it." [8:01 - 8:21]

Ricci's impressive submission win over a former title challenger will definitely help generate more interest in her next fight. She extended her winning streak to three straight wins and could see another step up in competition.

Tabatha Ricci reflects on her UFC debut against Manon Fiorot

Tabatha Ricci made her UFC debut under quite a unique set of circumstances when she stepped in on short-notice to fight Manon Fiorot at UFC Fight Night 189 in 2021.

During the aforementioned interview, 'Baby Shark' shared her thoughts on fighting Fiorot and why she agreed to make her promotional debut on three-days notice.

Tabatha Ricci mentioned that the weight and limited preparation didn't bother her as she saw it as a massive opportunity, saying:

"He [my manager] said, 'Okay, it's gonna be a tough fight, you know. The girl is like almost the top-ranked number-one, you know. She's gonna be a UFC star.' Like, it's okay, it doesn't matter. I wanna get in, I wanna fight. My goal is to be in the UFC.' [10:23 - 10:43]
