Ian Machado Garry, also known as "The Future," was born on November 17, 1997, in Portmarnock, Ireland. He is a mixed martial artist considered one of the best prospects in the UFC's welterweight division (170 lb). Inspired by Conor McGregor’s meteoric rise in MMA, Garry's fighting style can be described as a technical striker with a great ring IQ. Training under Chute Boxe Academy, he also has a background in Judo to add to his arsenal in the MMA.

Garry made his UFC debut on November 6, 2021, against Jordan Williams at UFC 268. Since then he has fought seven more times in the promotion, winning all of his fights. Some big wins for Garry include those against highly accomplished fighters like Geoff Neal and Neil Magny. Garry’s biggest win came against Michael “Venom” Page, whom Garry defeated via a unanimous decision at UFC 303 in his last fight. Garry’s next fight is a potential title eliminator against Shavkat “Nomad” Rakhmonov in the co-main event of UFC 310 on December 7, 2024.
