Aliskerov was scheduled to fight Paulo Costa at UFC 291 on July 29, 2023. On July 19, it was disclosed that the promotion has chosen to have him compete against Nassourdine Imavov at UFC 294 on October 21, 2023, rather than carry forward with the proposed pairing.
Imavov withdrew due to issues with his visa, and Warlley Alves replaced him. Aliskerov locked horns with Alves at UFC 294 and defeated him by a first-round TKO to win the fight.
