Petr Yan is a professional mixed martial artist who is competing in the bantamweight division of the professional mixed martial arts promotion, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Yan was interested in combat sports from a young age and started training in Taekwondo when he was in the sixth grade. He later trained in boxing and became a Master of Sport in boxing in the 64 kg weight category. Yan completely transitioned toward professional mixed martial arts eventually and debuted at the Siberian League: Baikal Cup 2014 against Murad Bakiev.
