The former Russian combat kung fu champion and former heavyweight champion of Fight Nights Global, Sergei Pavlovich, is currently ranked second in the UFC heavyweight rankings.

In 2014, Pavlovich started his professional mixed martial arts career under the banner of Fight Nights Global, and he won 12 fights without dropping a single bout. On November 19, 2017, he defended his heavyweight title against Kirill Sidelnikov, which he won in June 2017 by a unanimous decision against Mikhail Mokhnatkin. Pavlovich made his UFC debut on November 24, 2018, against Alistair Overeem at UFC Fight Night 141 and was knocked out in the first round. On September 4, 2021, at UFC Fight Night 191, Tom Aspinall was scheduled to square off against Pavlovich. However, due to visa complications, Pavlovich withdrew a week prior to the bout, and Sergey Spivak took his place. On July 30, 2022, Pavlovich squared off against Derrick Lewis at UFC 277. He ended the bout via TKO less than a minute into the opening round; however, both fighters and spectators thought the referee's stoppage was too soon.

On December 3, 2022, Tai Tuivasa and Pavlovich squared off at the UFC on ESPN 42. Within 55 seconds into the opening round, Tai was submitted via knockout, and Pavlovich was awarded Performance of the Night for this victory. Pavlovich faced Curtis Blaydes at UFC Fight Night 222 on April 22, 2023, and won via technical knockout in the opening round. With this performance, Pavlovich went on to win his fourth UFC Performance of the Night Award.
