Logan Paul, a YouTube star and budding fighter, expressed his admiration for Nurmagomedov during a 2022 episode of his podcast, Impaulsive. Reflecting on the Gaethje fight, Paul declared:

"He’s the best. Justin Gaethje, the guy he beat in the second round via triangle choke, is also one of the best fighters on the planet. And for Khabib to manhandle like a rag doll, manhandle one of the best combat sports athletes on the planet like a rag doll is so indicative of the level that this guy is operating at.”

Nurmagomedov announced his retirement immediately after the Gaethje fight, emphasizing that his decision was final. While some speculated about a potential comeback, Khabib never returned to the octagon, contrasting Conor McGregor’s frequent retirement reversals.
