Jaime Munguia maintained his winning run throughout his initial 26 fights, earning him a shot at the WBC Latino light middleweight title on February 10, 2018, at the Grand Oasis Resort in Cancun, Mexico, against Jose Carlos Pas. The ten-round showdown ended with Pas getting knocked out by Munguia in the third round, earning him the championship. The WBC Latino middleweight title was the first championship victory for Munguia as a professional boxer.
