Turner competed in the amateur circuit before turning to professional mixed martial arts. As an amateur, Jalin Turner had an impressionable run. He amassed a record of 5 wins, and 2 losses as an amateur. Jalin Turner turned professional in 2016, he locked horns with Eric Steans at WSOF 28 in his inaugural professional fight. Turner made quick work of Steans and picked up a win by first-round KO to start his professional career. He suffered his first professional loss against Ronnie Borja at the California Fight League 8 just after competing in his first two professional fight,s which he won.

Jalin Turner fought Max Mustaki at Dana White’s Contender Series 12 on July 10, 2018. He won the fight via first-round TKO (doctor’s stoppage) and went on to make his promotional debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship at UFC 229 on October 6, 2018. In his debut showdown in the promotion, Turner squared off against Vicente Luque and lost via first-round KO.
