‘The Monkey God’ Jarred Brooks wants it to rain green when he defeats Joshua Pacio at ONE 164 in Manila, Philippines.
The American brash-talker is gearing up for his first world title outing against 4-time ONE strawweight world champion ‘The Passion’ Joshua Pacio, which takes place at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday, December 3.
No matter how much he wants to see the golden belt wrapped around his waist, Brooks will be more satisfied with a $50,000 bonus check written in his name. In a recent interview with The MMA Superfan, the 29-year-old slugger said:
“I want to end this in the first round. I want to make a statement. I want to make sure I get that fifty-thousand dollars. Chatri [Sityodtong] is going to make it rain on me and that’s all that matters.”

Jarred Brooks has yet to produce a snoozer as he always brings a great level of competitiveness into each new matchup.
From what fans have been able to see in the build-up of his last three fights, he loves to talk a lot of trash behind-the-scenes. His MO is to get under his opponent’s skin which has led to a large MMA following on his social media like Twitter and Instagram.
But no matter what Joshua Pacio or his teammates from Team Lakay think about him, there’s a strange element of respect between the two fighters. They’re both equally dangerous in their respective disciplines, Pacio with his wushu style of fighting and Brooks with his American freestyle wrestling.
So, expect a fast-paced firefight as the pair look to make ONE history in front of millions of US fans watching.

Jarred Brooks and Joshua Pacio behaved themselves in the latest face-off interview ahead of their world title clash at ONE 164.
Brooks recently touched down in the Philippines after a long flight from the United States. As mentioned above, there’s no animosity between Brooks and Pacio, but at the end of the day there will be no such thing as friendliness when they step inside the ONE circle on December 3.
At the ONE 164 pre-fight media scrum, Brooks and Pacio were interviewed at the same time by SCMP MMA reporter Nic Atkin. When Brooks was asked if he had anything “nice” things to say about his rival, the American wrestler didn’t break out of character and said:
“Josh is a great guy, I think he’s done well for all of his Filipino people and all of his pinoys. He’s put on for the younger generation as he likes to say but too bad that you know nice guys finish last sometimes and the bad guy’s here to take the belt and take that back to the Americas.”
