Two months removed from his ONE world title victory, Jarred Brooks is once again taking aim at another ONE world champion, Demetrious Johnson.
‘The Monkey God’ delivered a spectacular performance at ONE 164 in December, defeating Joshua ‘The Passion’ Pacio to capture the ONE strawweight world championship. Following his victory, Brooks called his shot, challenging pound-for-pound great Demetrious Johnson to a champion vs. champion showdown.
Taking to Instagram, Jarred Brooks is once again taking aim at ‘Mighty Mouse’ by calling out the multi-time world champion for a superfight. However, this time ‘The Monkey God’ included Johnson’s ONE on Fight Night 10 opponent Adriano Moraes, throwing out a challenge to the eight-time flyweight titleholder as well.
“Yeah, Demetrious Johnson I’m coming for you man. Or Adriano Moraes, it doesn’t matter. I’m gonna be coming after you guys. Take hand, foot, and nail to come and kill. I’m literally the best in the world. There’s nobody like me.”

Before either man potentially steps into the Circle with Jarred Brooks, Demetrious Johnson and Adriano Moraes will square off with one another for the third and final time when ONE Championship makes its highly anticipated debut in the United States.

Jarred Brooks open to competing in a mixed-rules bout with Demetrious Johnson
Demetrious Johnson has openly stated that he only has a few fights left in him. Knowing this, Jarred Brooks is desperate to get his opportunity to share the Circle with someone that he truly admires. Speaking honestly, ‘The Monkey God’ believes that he would represent the perfect challenge for Johnson’s last hurrah in mixed martial arts.
“I think a perfect last fight for him would be me."
To make that dream match happen, Brooks is even willing to compete under a mixed-rules matchup with ‘Mighty Mouse’ before he hangs up the gloves for good.
"A strawweight vs flyweight champion. And if you wanted to make it interesting, we can make it mixed rules as well. We can go one round Muay Thai, second round Jiu-Jitsu, and third round MMA."
Right now, Johnson is solely focused on retaining his ONE flyweight world championship against division rival Adriano Moraes, but ‘Mighty Mouse’ has shown interest in competing in some unorthodox matchups before walking away. Whether or not those plans include a meeting with ‘The Monkey God’ remains to be seen.
