Jarred Brooks is confident in his ability to defeat long-time champion Joshua Pacio at ONE 164, and the promotion's No.1-ranked strawweight contender isn't afraid to voice his conviction.
'The Monkey God' has been a dominant force since signing with ONE Championship in 2021. His three wins over Lito Adiwang, Hiroba Minowa, and Bokang Masunyane have led to him receiving his first opportunity at a world title.
Brooks recently took to Instagram to send a warning to his upcoming foe:
"Enjoy your last 15 minuets of fame @joshuapacio !! This will be the last time you have the belt! 😎😎"

Joshua Pacio has successfully defended his strawweight strap three times since securing it by beating Yosuke Saruta in 2019. Not only is Pacio incredibly tough to beat, but he'll also have the benefit of fighting Brooks in his native country.
Jarred Brooks shares his story of fighting in Brazil
This won't be Brooks' first time competing in 'enemy' territory. The No.1-ranked strawweight shared a story about his time fighting in Brazil.
He told MMA Sucka:
"When I beat Deiveson Figueiredo [reigning UFC flyweight champ] and got the call, that was in Sao Paulo [Brazil]. Sao Paulo’s pretty rough. You don’t get rougher than Sao Paulo, and I got lost in Sao Paulo for eight hours. The day before weigh-ins in Sao Paulo and I thought I was gonna die. Do these people see me? 'Isn’t that the guy who’s fighting Deiveson Figueiredo? Oh, let’s go get his a**.'"
Hopefully, the 29-year-old won't get lost in the Philippines like he did in Sao Paulo. Furthermore, Brooks will be hoping to get his hand raised over Pacio as he fought Figueiredo to a split-decision loss back in 2017.
Will the strawweight division have a new king come next week? Or will the Filipino star make a fourth defense of his world title?
Be sure to tune in to ONE 164 on December 3 to watch Jarred Brooks attempt to acquire the strawweight strap from three-time defending champ Joshua Pacio, live from the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines.
