Fight number one may have been trending away from a John Lineker win, but according to one fellow fighter, the rematch may not be so clear cut for Andrade.
When Fabricio Andrade fought former world champion John Lineker at ONE on Prime Video 3 last October, both fighters had avenues of success- for Andrade, the volume striking, and for John Lineker, the wrestling.
Both fighters will likely arrive in Bangkok on February 24 with a different approach than their original meeting. Jeremy Pacatiw, a fellow bantamweight in ONE Championship, recently broke down the fight with media outlet The MMA Superfan.
Pacatiw believes that adjustments like avoiding the knee and greater mobility could change the outcome of the fight. This is what he had to say:

“I think, maybe, if they don’t change too much from their approach in the first fight, then Andrade will get the win. But if Lineker adjusts his fighting style, like how he sets up his shots and movements, and he already knows he has to avoid those knees, then there could be changes.”
Of course, it was the knee down the middle that also signaled the end of the fight between John Lineker and Fabricio Andrade last October. Lineker took the shot right on the cup and could not recover in the time allotted, ruling the highly-anticipated world title fight a no contest.
Lineker has been back in the workshop since then, studying the fight and preparing changes against Andrade. In less than two weeks, the two will get a second try to take the other out and claim the bantamweight world championship.
Stephen Loman believes that the fans win either way in John Lineker vs. Fabricio Andrade rematch
A teammate of Jeremy Pacatiw, Stephen Loman, took a step back and evaluated the fight between Lineker and Andrade as a whole.
With a world title on the line, Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker are two of the most exciting fighters in ONE Championship. Here's what Loman had to say about the caliber of fight fans will get to witness on February 24 while speaking to The MMA Superfan:
“This is another hard one to predict. As long as they give their best, the fans win. Let’s just see who is willing to go the extra mile and push through adversity. There’s a world title at stake, after all. I know they’ve trained well for each other. This is going to be a good fight. It’s going to be a war and even though Fabricio Andrade dominated the first fight, anything can happen in the rematch. Let’s just wait and see.”
ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video goes down on February 24 from Bangkok, Thailand, and streams on Amazon Prime for North American subscribers.
