The former women’s strawweight champion Jessica Andrade and the No. 6 contender Marina Rodriguez are all braced up for their ultimate showdown at UFC’s much-awaited pay-per-view event, the UFC 300. The high-profile pay-per-view event is stacked with exciting fight cards across divisions. Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill will headline the event in a light heavyweight title showdown, whereas Jessica Andrade and Marina Rodriguez will square off against each other in the early preliminary card of the evening in a strawweight showdown.

Jessica Andrade made her professional mixed martial arts debut in 2011. She fought in different professional mixed martial arts promotions before joining the UFC. She made her debut in the UFC after compiling a record of 9 wins and 2 losses. Andrade defeated Rose Namajunas at UFC 237 in a women’s strawweight title bout and became the strawweight champion of the UFC.

Jessica Andrade later lost the title to Zhang Weili at UFC Fight Night: Andrade vs. Zhang. She is currently ranked No. 5 in the women’s strawweight division of the UFC. Her upcoming opponent at UFC 300, Marina Rodriguez, has been a professional mixed martial artist since 2015. After fighting in various professional mixed martial arts promotions, Rodriguez made her promotional debut in the UFC on September 22, 2018, at UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Anders. The fight ended up in a draw and Rodriguez took a few fights before consolidating his footing in the promotion.

Currently, Marina Rodriguez is ranked as the No. 6 women’s strawweight fighter in the UFC. Both women strawweight fighters will try to outclass each other in their scheduled showdown at UFC 300 in order to improve their standings in the division’s rankings while entering the octagon.
