Middleweight strikers Joe Schilling and Hisaki Kato are set to square off at next month’s Bellator 139. On Monday, Bellator officials announced the 185-pound matchup will take place on June 26 at Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas. The bout will feature kickboxing veteran and two-time Bellator MMA Middleweight Joe Schilling (2-4) who will put his reputation on the line against Hisaki Kato(4-1). The bout will mark the debut of the Japanese standout, both in Bellator and in North America. Kato, thus far has fought exclusively for the Japanese “Heat” promotion.
On the other hand Schilling will look to reverse his performance from Bellator 136, where he was favoured to win against Rafael Carvalho, but ended up with a spilt decision loss. The newly announced bout is the fourth and the final match of the main card set to be aired on Spike TV. Bellator 139 undercard “prelims” will be announced at a later date.
