Jon Anik, born on July 3, 1978, in Boston, Massachusetts, is an American sports commentator well-known in the world of mixed martial arts. Growing up with his identical twin brother Jason in Wellesley, Massachusetts, Anik found interest in many sports and continued playing basketball and tennis throughout his high school at the Rivers School in Weston, Massachusetts. Anik attended Gettysburg College for a degree in political journalism. While in college, he interned at the George Michael Sports Machine in Washington, D.C., his first involvement with sports media.
In 2011, Anik made the jump to the UFC, where he made his commentary debut on the international broadcast of UFC on FX: Guillard vs. Miller. He served as a lead play-by-play announcer with various events and hosted the UFC's flagship sports magazine show, 'UFC Ultimate Insider.' In 2017, Anik was promoted to the UFC's lead play-by-play voice on pay-per-view events, often alongside Daniel Cormier and Joe Rogan. In addition to his commentary duties, Anik co-hosts the 'Anik & Florian Podcast' with former UFC fighter Kenny Florian, where they discuss MMA, sports, and pop culture.
