Jon Jones is fresh off a win against Ciryl Gane, and according to his advisor Richard Schaefer, a fight against Francis Ngannou isn't off the books.
Jon Jones was initially set to return to the Octagon against either Stipe Miocic or Francis Ngannou. However, Ngannou vacated the belt and left the organization of his own accord, and Miocic, fresh off an injury, was not ready to fight. Following 'The Predator's' departure, the dream match-up between himself and Jones has looked very improbable.
However, according to Schaefer, it is a fight he could help facilitate despite Dana White stating otherwise:
"I do hope that somehow, even though Dana (White) was very clear that (Ngannou is) never gonna come back, as they say, never is a long time. If it makes sense for UFC from a financial point of view, I think they’ll be open to do that fight.

“This is now something which I can help, because I do have a nice relationship with people with Francis. If I could help to smooth the way and try to get that fight done and be sort of like, an intermediary, to get two sides on the same page, I’ll be happy to do that, because I do think it’s why people would want to see."
Schaefer is confident that he could make the fight between Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou happen if 'The Predator' decides to get back into the Octagon in the UFC.

Daniel Cormier weighs in on the Jon Jones 'GOAT' debate
Daniel Cormier, Jon Jones' long-time rival and UFC pundit, has weighed in on the debate of 'Bones' being called the 'GOAT' (Greatest Of All Time) of UFC. Following his win over Ciryl Gane at UFC 285, many fighters and fans alike have stated that Jones is undoubtedly the 'GOAT' of the sport. However, Cormier had to say otherwise:
"I think it's hard to really argue the greatest of all time when Jones has now gone up to heavyweight and won the championship. I will always say guys that have bad things attached to their name should not be held on high. I think especially with the drugs and the steroid failures and those types of things, it's hard to call you the greatest of all time."
Daniel Cormier believes Jon Jones's drug use and incidents outside the ring cannot be overlooked. Therefore, in his eyes, Jones shouldn't be called the greatest of all time.
