‘The General’ Jonathan Haggerty is on a plane bound for Thailand to acclimate two weeks ahead of his anticipated return to the ring.

One of the biggest ONE events going down this month, sees Muay Thai legend Nong-O Hama defend his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title over British superstar Jonathan Haggerty at ONE Fight Night 9 on Prime Video.

The much-awaited showdown is set to take place on April 21 inside the famed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, where the most prestigious Muay Thai championship matches in the world have taken place.

Despite traveling to hostile environments, Haggerty is fueled by the prospect of etching his name once again in the history books at the home of Muay Thai.

Sharing a photo of himself at the airport, ‘The General’ sent the following message to his fans and teammates back home with the caption:

“Off to make history @onechampionship. Just want to say a massive thank you to everyone that has been supporting me through out my career. Really do appreciate it! A massive task ahead of us but we are ready and we’ll prepared to become the new @onechampionship bantamweight world champion ❤️🙏🏼🤴🏼
"Thank you to all my sponsors for this fight camp ❤️ Catch my fight live on @primevideo #onefightnight9.”

Over the last few weeks, the 26-year-old standout has worked tirelessly honing his craft. Ready to unleash the beast inside, ‘The General’ is looking forward to surprising the world champion with his fast-paced fighting style and deadly sneak attacks.

Although he’s not known to be a finisher, Haggerty hopes to gain favor with the judges by routinely pressuring Nong-O Hama with significant strikes from the outside. If he remains consistent without burning out, there’s a chance Haggerty could outlast the the Thai legend over the five rounds.

Watch two of the greatest Muay Thai strikers in the world collide on Friday, April 21 at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Thailand. The event can be seen live and for free by North American Prime Video subscribers.
