'The General' Jonathan Haggerty stays focused on the match at hand with cold calculation. The English-born striker ensures he does not have emotions coming into a fight.

The ONE Championship Muay Thai fighter discussed this philosophy in an interview with Heatrick Muay Thai Performance. 'The General' explained:

"Just the main thing and the only thing is don’t get emotional. Don’t get caught in your emotions. You know, don’t get angry. Don’t let the mind games kick in. That’s it, man. Do your thing."

The English-born athlete will need that cold focus in his upcoming bout. Jonathan Haggerty will be looking to earn gold in ONE Championship as he battles Nong-O Hama for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai crown on April 21 at ONE Fight Night 9 on Prime Video. ONE Fight Night events are broadcast live and for free in North America via Prime Video.

Nong-O Hama talks Jonathan Haggerty

The reigning ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O has kept a close eye on the career of 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty knowing that they would one day meet. The Thai-born striker has seen his matches and is preparing a game plan.

In an interview with ONE Championship, the bantamweight Muay Thai king Nong-O explained:

“I’ve been watching Haggerty for a long time now, going back to his world title fights against Rodtang. He’s very skilled and uses many different Muay Thai techniques."

Muay Thai great Nong-O continued:

“The main thing I’ve noticed is that he uses a lot of elbows, especially spinning back elbows, so I will need to look out for those."

With seven consecutive world title defenses and the most recent five of which were all won via knockout, Nong-O is looking to make Jonathan Haggerty just another name on his record at ONE Fight Night 9 on April 21.
