Jorge Masvidal opened up about the Colby Covington attack outside a Miami beach steakhouse a few weeks after they fought at UFC 272.
During his appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, Joe Rogan asked Masvidal what happened between the two that led to their close friendship coming to an end. He responded by saying that Covington didn't pay his coach at American Top Team and then shared what allegedly happened at the steakhouse.
"Allegedly a lot of things happened...I don't know, they're saying a lot of things, it's all allegedly cuz. Ah sh*t, man...Yeah, I don't know what they're talking about, man. But legally in the cage in the UFC, I'm gonna snatch his soul one way or another." [2:19 - 2:35]
'Chaos' earned a unanimous decision win over 'Gamebred' when they fought in the main event of UFC 272, but clearly they didn't make amends that night and it only added more animosity. The 'BMF' title holder then spoke about not being at his best when they fought and mentioned that he intends on fighting Covington again before he retires from the sport, saying:

"What happened happened [loss at UFC 272]...So until we fight again, nobody will get to see that better version of me. But I promise you, Joe, before I close this chapter in my life in MMA, I will have competed against this guy. I'm gonna fu****g take his soul, bro." [4:04 - 4:17]
Masvidal could make a strong case for a rematch should he defeat Gilbert Burns in impressive fashion at UFC 287.

Leon Edwards open to offering Jorge Masvidal a title shot if he defeats Gilbert Burns
Another notable fighter that Jorge Masvidal had issues with is reigning welterweight champion Leon Edwards.
'Rocky' and 'Gamebred' were involved in an altercation backstage in 2019, which saw the 'BMF' title holder land punches before they were separated. A bout between the two never materialized, but Edwards is open to offering him a title shot if he gets his hand raised at UFC 287 because he wants to get his hands on him.
During his appearance on The MMA Hour, 'Rocky' mentioned that he doesn't believe there are clear contenders at 170lbs and would be open to fighting 'Gambred' if the opportunity presented itself, saying:
"There's no clear contenders. The only reason why [Jorge] Masvidal will have a chance is because of our history and what's behind it. The fact that I don't like him. If he does lose there's no clear No.1 contender."
