Jose Aldo says UFC's Reebok deal is sh*t and wishes for a MMA fighters' union

Jose Aldo calls for a fighters' union due to their losses from UFC-Reebok deal
We had reported earlier about Brendan Schaub who claimed to have lost $100,000 due to UFC's Reebok deal. And also about Sara McMann who felt that the deal is gender biased and unfair to women. Now its the turn of the current UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo. Jose speaking to Combate (via Bloody Elbow) said that he thinks the plan is just sh*t and its completely unfair of the UFC for accepting such a deal and not thinking about the fighters as they losing too much. He also urged that if there was a MMA fighters union, this would not have happened.
This what he said:

"First of all, it's shit. That's a huge setback for us. We live for each fight, we have to keep fighting and nobody fights more than three times a year. Not a champion, anyway. Even the value they measured doesn't match what our sponsors were paying us. That is great for the UFC, but not for the fighters. I see a lot of athletes losing too much. If we had a union for fighters, and we were all together, like in the NBA, this would've been different, but fighters are not united. Today I have a price the event is willing to pay to have me, but there are other fighters out there willing to fight for spare change if I don't want to, and that is not even their fault. The UFC brought the sport to where it is today, great, that's their merit. But if athletes were more united and had a union to protect them, I don't think this would happen."

Previously when the question of forming a union had arised, President Dana White had said that would not work as he spoke to ESPN :

"I doubt it. The thing about fighting is, fighting is not a team sport, it's an individual sport. It's going to be tough to see a day with Silva or GSP is giving up big chunks of their money to guys who won't make two fights in the UFC. Different sports. But if it happens, it happens. I have to negotiate with somebody on the fight contracts."

We just hope this Reebok uniform deal controversies end and let the fighters get the fair share for their work.
