Former undisputed super light champion, Josh Taylor held his titles from 2019 to 2023. In the four-belt era, he became the first Brit and second Scot to be the undisputed champion, which he got in May 2021. But he gave up the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles in the middle of 2022, and Teofimo Lopez won the WBO and Ring Magazine titles instead in 2023.
Regardless, Taylor has a box-pro record of 19-01, winning 13 of them through knockouts. He is known for his aggressive fighting style, attributing it to his moniker, The Tartan Tornado. Even in his amateur career, he won 52 fights out of 76. Furthermore, he also won lightweight (silver) and light-welterweight (gold) titles in the 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Josh Taylor Losses
In 2023, Josh Taylor's undefeated record and WBO super-lightweight title were lost to Teofimo Lopez following a brilliant points (115-113, 115-115, 117-111) victory in New York. Taylor's reign as the world champion, which began in May 2019, came to an end when Lopez's fluid moves proved too much for him to handle.
For the first time since a hard-fought victory over Jack Catterall in February 2022, Taylor was back in the ring and had a good start with some precise jabs, but by the eleventh round, tables turned and Lopez raised his arms as an early celebration, following more blows that made him win. According to the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board, The Ring magazine, and ESPN, Lopez is the best active light welterweight in the world as of May 2024.
