One of the most promising women bantamweights Julianna Pena, who won the TUF 18 crown via over Jessica Rakoczy is now back on track after a near career ending injury. After her impressive win over Milana Dudieva, she is now climbing the stairs as she wishes to take on former No. 1 contender Cat Zingano.
"Alpha" recently faced her first defeat at the hands of Ronda Rousey at UFC 184 in LA. She could only last a mere 14 seconds before she tapped to an armbar. So Zingano has decided to wait until fall to get back in the octagon. Pena is also ready to wait for "Alpha", as a victory over her will help “Vixen” to go to the next level in her career.
This is what Rick Little, Pena's head coach had to say about the fight, as he spoke to UFC Tonight:
"That's the best fight for [Pena's] career path,"
Many feel that the victor of this fight may get a shot at Ronda Rousey at the year end UFC pay-per-view event.
