Kade Ruotolo is an American submission grappler and black-belt Brazilian jiu-jitsu competitor. Kade, along with his twin brother Tye, displayed prodigious talent in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) from a young age. They began training at three years old, quickly excelling in the sport. After joining the AOJ Academy in 2013 and later switching to Atos in 2017 under Andre Galvao's guidance, the Ruotolo brothers rapidly rose to prominence.
In 2021, Kade won the IBJJF World Championship at the brown-belt level, earning his black belt shortly thereafter. The twins then joined ONE Championship, with Kade impressively defeating Japanese legend Shinya Aoki in his debut. Subsequently, he became the youngest-ever World Champion at the 2022 ADCC World Championships, triumphing in the 77kg division.
Continuing his success, Kade secured the inaugural ONE Lightweight Submission Grappling World Title in October 2022 by submitting Uali Kurzhev. Remarkably, he has not lost a submission grappling match since receiving his BJJ black belt.

The Ruotolo brothers have been making waves in BJJ since they were children. They became well-known as the Ruotolo Twins, jiu-jitsu’s first child stars. They have achieved almost unparalleled success throughout the colored-belt ranks in BJJ. Kade cites Tye as the primary factor in his martial arts career.
Kade once stated that there have been countless times when he wouldn’t have accomplished certain things without his brother. Furthermore, their distinctive bond resembles having a constant source of guidance, akin to having a coach always available to provide advice, including the kind of tough love that others might not offer. This dynamic persists round the clock, every day of the year. Tye views Kade as his most significant 'frenemy' because they continue to compete with each other to better themselves at every opportunity.
