Kade Ruotolo is an American submission grappler and black-belt Brazilian jiu-jitsu competitor. He was born on January 22, 2003, in Maui, Hawaii, and raised in Huntington Beach, California. Kade and his twin brother Tye have been competing in jiujitsu since the age of 3 and were considered “grappling’s first child stars.” The two brothers trained at the Art of Jiu-Jitsu Academy (AOJ) for 4 years under Guilherme and Rafael Mendes before switching to Atos Jiu-Jitsu in 2017, a team AOJ was affiliated with.

Kade Ruotolo is an IBJJF World champion, Pan Am, and European Open champion at the colored belt level. He was promoted to black belt in December 2021 and won the 2022 ADCC World Championship in the 77kg division, becoming at age 19 the youngest-ever ADCC Submission Fighting World champion. Ruotolo is signed to ONE Championship, where he is the current lightweight submission grappling champion.

In his last fight, Kade Ruotolo, the ONE Lightweight Submission Grappling World Champion, defended his title against Tommy Langaker in the co-main event of ONE 165. The match was held on January 28, 2024, and lasted for 10 minutes. Ruotolo won the match by unanimous decision.

On October 21, 2022, Kade Ruotolo competed against Uali Kurzhev for the first-ever ONE Lightweight Submission Grappling World Championship at ONE on Prime Video 3. Kurzhev failed hydration twice, and as a result, a catchweight of 174 lbs was established, four pounds heavier than initially intended, making Kurzhev ineligible for the belt.

Ruotolo won the title by submitting Kurzhev with a heel hook at 4:26 in the 10-minute bout. This victory made Ruotolo the first-ever ONE Lightweight Submission Grappling World Champion. Ruotolo then went on to defend this title three more times.
