Kiamrian Abbasov does not care if Christian Lee is bigger or smaller than him when the two meet inside the circle at ONE on Prime Video 4 this Friday night.

The ONE welterweight world champion is preparing himself for the toughest opponent possible and refuses to look past the skills of ‘The Warrior’ simply because he will likely walk into the bout with a sizeable disadvantage in overall size.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Abbasov said:

“It doesn’t matter whether [Lee is] smaller or bigger. I always try to train with strong opponents in the gym to be ready for any outcome in the fight. Because he may be smaller in weight but physically stronger.”

Christian Lee, who is three months removed from recapturing the ONE lightweight world championship at ONE 160, will step up to the welterweight division and challenge Abbasov for his crown in the evening’s highly-anticipated main event.

Also scheduled for the card is another champion vs. champion showdown as ONE strawweight Muay Thai world champion Joseph Lasiri challenges flyweight Muay Thai titleholder ‘The Iron Man’ Rodtang Jitmuangnon for two-division glory.

These two fights and many more will go down this Friday night at ONE on Prime Video 4. The card will air live and for free on Amazon Prime Video with a subscription to the streaming service.

Christian Lee believes his fight with Kiamrian Abbasov was a matter of circumstance

In the time since Kiamrian Abbasov last defended his welterweight world championship, Christian Lee has fought for the lightweight title three times.

Abbasov, on the other hand, took some time away from the welterweight division to challenge reigning two-division titleholder, Reinier de Ridder, for the middleweight crown in early 2022.

Abbasov is back where he reigns supreme and he’ll have a new challenger for the first time in more than two years. Christian Lee recently spoke to ONE Championship about the ONE on Prime Video 4 headliner and the circumstances that made it go from concept to reality.

“I believe it's about two years since [Abbasov] defended the welterweight title. I've been actively clearing out the lightweight division. So right now, there is no clear contender, and with there being no fight in the lightweight or welterweight division, it only makes sense to put the two champions together.”
