Liam Harrison is putting in work at the gym as he continues to recover from knee surgery.

‘Hitman’ is hoping to make his ONE Championship return later this summer, but for now, the former ONE world title challenger is committed to rehabbing his knee and rebuilding his strength. Speaking with The MMA Superfan about his road to recovery, Liam Harrison said:

“I’m doing a lot of strength and conditioning, strength work at the minute, obviously a lot of rehab on my knee. I’m actually doing boxing training but I’m just sat down doing it. I’m sat on a box and hitting the pads while sat on the box. That’s what I can do at the minute.”

Liam Harrison’s last appearance inside the circle came at ONE on Prime Video 1 in August. Stepping into the co-main event, Harrison squared off with Nong-O Hama for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship. Hoping to walk out with 26 pounds of gold, ‘Hitman’ instead walked out with a devastating injury after Nong-O finished things with a brutal leg kick just past the two-minute mark of the fight.

Upon his return to ONE Championship, Harrison intends to stay active, fighting every six to eight weeks with the goal of reaching 100 career wins and a ONE world championship.

Liam Harrison misses his favorite part of training

After undergoing much-needed knee surgery in January, Liam Harrison was forced to take it slow in the gym. That included the elimination of sparring altogether, which just happens to be Harrison’s favorite part of training. ‘Hitman’ shared his frustration over being unable to partake in sparring sessions on Instagram, saying:

"I miss sparring so badly …might not look it but all these boys in the vid are the best of friends …how can you express love to your best friends other than punching them In the face and kicking them really hard… even when I retire will still be definitely sparring like this once a week… it’s my favourite part of training and always has been… can’t wait to dance with you boys again in a few months."

In order to properly recover and reach his goal of 100 wins, the British striker knows that he will need to take care of his body and follow the regime in front of him to prevent any further delays.

Aside from his desire to enter the 100-win club, ‘Hitman’ is also aiming to compete for at least four more years at the highest level, including regular appearances on ONE Championship’s Friday Fights series at the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.
