Luis Alberto Lopez, also known as "El Venado", was born on August 21, 1993, and is a pro-boxer from Mexicali, Mexico. López started his professional career on November 6, 2015, and won by beating Francisco Pacheco. In record time, he ascended the ladder and showed his power with 17 knockouts in his 30 wins. Lopez made headlines in 2017 when he became the holder of the Mexican Pacific Coast championship in the super featherweight division.

In 2019, by defeating Ray Ximenez, Lopez won the WBO International belt among featherweights. His most notable victory came on December 10, 2022, when he won over Josh Warrington by a majority decision, gaining the IBF featherweight title​. Since his title-winning victory against the IBF featherweight champion, Lopez has defended his title successfully several times with victories over Michael Conlan, Joet Gonzalez, and Reiya Abe​.
