The Ultimate Fighting Championship is coming up with its much-awaited pay-per-view event, UFC 298, in California, USA. The event is lined up with exciting fights across weight classes among male and female competitors for the promotion. Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria will headline the event in a featherweight title bout, and the women’s strawweight mixed martial artists, Mackenzie Dern and Amanda Lemos, will clash with each other on the preliminary card of the pay-per-view event.

Mackenzie Dern is a seasoned mixed martial artist who has experience in 17 professional fights so far. A professional fighter since 2016, Dern has competed in different fight promotions and eventually elevated herself to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). She made her debut against Kenia Rosas at Legacy FC 58 in a strawweight bout and won it via unanimous decision.

Mackenzie Dern made her way into the UFC on March 3, 2018, against Ashley Yoder at UFC 222. She won via split decision and kept her momentum intact in her next fight before suffering her first professional loss in the promotion. Currently ranked No. 7 in the women’s strawweight rankings, Mackenzie Dern looks poised to improve her chances of leveling up by securing a victory against Lemos at UFC 298.

Her opponent for the event, Amanda Lemos, is an equally experienced female mixed martial artist who competes in the UFC. A professional fighter since 2104, Lemos made her debut against Laura Falcao at Fusao de Artes Marcias 3 in 2014. She finished her bout via first-round KO and took off to a winning start as a professional fighter.

Amanda Lemos made her debut in the UFC on July 16, 2017, at UFC Fight Night: Nelson vs. Ponzinnibio. She lost the fight via a first-round TKO; it was her first professional loss. Lemos, however, recovered from the loss and amassed a reasonable record in her favor. She currently ranks No. 3 in the women’s strawweight rankings of the promotion and will try to seize a victory as she walks inside the octagon against Mackenzie Dern at UFC 298 to strengthen her contention for the title.
